Archive 2.0: (Retro) Ethics

September 2019 - January 2020

[EN] The Spaarnestad Photo Foundation has in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, developed a ResearchLab to let students discover collections as a source and inspiration for new ideas. In the second edition of the research lab Archive 2.0: (Retro) Ethics a specific attention was given to topics dealing with ethical issues around image and power. The deep dive into the archive will be treated as a "crime scene investigation”, based on the following photo collections available for 2019-2020: mass tourism in the 60’s, industry and inventions, short journalistic (crime) stories, animal: hunting, medical testing, zoo’s, circus. After five months the results will be presented in a series of projects in the field of Interactive Media design, Visual Arts, Interior Design, Graphic Design and Photography. During the semester one could follow the progress of this ResearchLab through this blog (scroll down).
